Hello?

Someone told me that somebody still reads my xanga.
Felt honored, but I pretty much switched to tumblr.
It's a much bigger inspiration source
and makes blogging so much easier.

Love you xanga, you've always been here for me
But tumblr pretty much rules the blogging world.

Visit http://fadedsilver.tumblr.com

Maybe I should blog as a profession.
How awesome would that be? x

The Cool Kids You Want to Hang Out With

Cory Kennedy is probably on top of your list too.
The amazing hair, the adventures, the drunken eyes, and her cobra starship shirt?
Who wouldn't want to be her best friend?
Her blog has some really awesome photos too @ www.itscorykennedy.wordpress.com

Peaches Geldof, one of the most coolest kid working for Nylon Magazine.
Yep, she's also the daughter of Bob Geldof. And she has a long-ass tattoo on her body.
She also died her hair blue, which makes me want to dye my hair blue... or purple. The blonde princess has super duper awesome taste for fashion and music, you can check it out on her monthly blog on Nylon Mag.
P.S. She's one of Cory's best friend. You can probably imagine how jealous I am.

There's no need for introduction for our next guest. For those who've seen my blog, you'll know I love Alexa Chung.
Show host, fashion icon, DJ, girlfriend of Arctic Monkey's lead singer, her resume speaks for herself.
She was in Hong Kong, but I didn't know after her appearance for Mulberry. (Weep)
I love her line for Madewell. And I'm jealous, she has those Acne shoes I crave.

I love how she looks angry.

You'd probably realize that they're all British, and they're all very stylish. I have to admit, British girls have better taste than us (Hong Kong-ers). They're not the only cool kids I want to hang out with but they're definitely my top choices. Might make another post about this some day. But for now, here are my selections.

Boyfriend told me he wants a lip-ring. Someone please convince him that its suicidal if he wants to become a lawyer. Not that I have anything against lip-ring, it might be sexy on him too. But if he wants to work in an office and represents companies, I don't think it's the wisest choice to do so. Not against tattoo though, at least you can cover it. I want to get a tattoo too, but it has to be somewhere my mom couldn't see. And my mom sees me naked. Yes, I'm 18 and my mom still looks at my naked body. Hey, girls gotta go to sauna together! I want to get a tattoo of a world map, or a bird, or a star. Ah pssh I doubt it'll happen.

Wow, I just want to say thank you for the 500+ views on my site in the past week :) its the highest hit I've had since... forever. Thank you Rumi for her tweet, nothing feel more amazing to see your fashion icon saying she's honored! Well here you go ladies and gentlemen, and keep checking out my blog (and subscribe)!

Big kisses from me x

The Art of Blogging

Hey everyone, it's Monday afternoon and yes, I just finished my English exam. Instead of studying for Chinese or ENS, a sudden gush of... something that leads me to this, a blog about fashion blogging. I am a big fan of two fashion bloggers, Rumi and Cindy.

Rumi, I guess if anyone is a fan of fashion bloggers, would be one of the most popular choice for many. Her style differs from mine a lot. Color scheme-wise, yes, black and white are our favorite choices but her minimalistic style is something I love, yet will not and cannot learn from. I guess in some way, the body difference contributes to our different taste. She's a model, which means she's at least 5'9" and above and me, well let's just say I'm far from that number. Her tiny waist and height are possibly the best body to wear anything she desires. Even a loose wide shirt looks extremely good on her. I, on the other hand, often change ten thousand outfits before stepping out of my doorstep because my body rejects every outfit I pictured beforehand (aka too fat and short). Trust me, I tried putting a big jumper over my stubby little body, wore 4inches heels and it did not work for me. Rumi is not one of those bloggers who use hours and hours into putting an outfit that requires so much effort and time. She, in fact, is the definition of simplicity. But the different ways she puts it together is amazing, and proving that simplicity is not dull.

This is one of my favorite outfits. This vintage suede fringe... thing
from a thrift store is the perfect match with a simple black dress.

Here is a blog from last year. The composition of light, fishnet cardigan and
leopard prints platforms completely took my heart away.
If I remember correctly, this is the photo that convinced me that platforms are the way to go.

This is one of the many appearances that this Alexander Wang dress made in Rumi's blog.
It is, forgive me, fucking incredible. The dress hugs her body perfectly and with a pair of black platforms,
the outfit is complete. This dress is (last time I checked net-a-porter) still available online.
I would lay my hands on it if it wasn't for the price.
Alexander Wang and Rumi go together, like how Nutella goes with bread.

Ripped, fishnet, sheer fabrics are commonly found on the website.
Well, with a body like that, I wouldn't mind showing my skin to the world.
Almost naked, Rumi puts sexy into minimal and plays with conventional outfits.

One of the excitements in following fashiontoast.com is the occasion fashion shows Rumi attends.
I feel so happy for her that she's making her way to the center of fashion
with her amazing little blog. Here her off shoulder dress goes so well with the harness belt.

Jewelery is an essential element in Rumi's style.
Her outfit may be simple, but her rings and bracelets
definitely make pretty big statements for themselves.

I have to say that grunge is something I never considered before,
but Rumi makes it look so... pretty. Her style is not necessarily grunge,
but more of a chill Californian taste. Occasionally, a pair of huge wedges pops up
and (for me) it reminds me of Gothic teenagers with the same 6inches platforms.
But she makes it look so awesome I myself want to grab a pair.

An American with a hint of Japanese, Rumi's look is somewhat comforting to me. Just the fact that someone (half, or a quarter?) Asian can look as amazing as she does makes me so happy, and possibly less intimidating than those blonde hair Caucasians who I look completely different to. Of course, her blog is not without the effort from her super pretty boyfriend Colin who takes the most amazing photos of Rumi. The photographs really capture the essence of the laid back, Californian blogger. The composition of her outfits, poses, Colin's photography skills and the fact that she is good blogger (meaning she constantly updates) make me an undying fan of this fashion blog. Moving on, ladies and gentlemen, from my very own city (Hong Kong), Cindy Ko.

I don't remember very much my first encounter with this blog (www.Cindiddy.com, or previously known as www.cindiddy.blogspot.com) but I'm very glad to find such a fashion blogger in my very own tiny little city. Hong Kong is quite fashionable, I would say, if you walk into the right district. Many people have good taste but I never seem to lay my eyes on what they wear. Perhaps it's the repetition in everyone's outfit that turns me off. Yes, Hong Kong-ese are fashionable, but the fact that many people follow trends without filtering with their own style is quite boring. But Cindy, a mother with a killer body, recognizes what fits her and takes control.

Similar to Rumi, Cindy uses basic colors i.e. grey, black and white with the occasional super bright colors on her lips or shoes. I started following cindiddy couple months ago, but I already grew a custom to her sharp, perfectly clean style. I think, what started to be a personal fashion blog, Cindiddy grew to be one of the most popular fashion blogs in Hong Kong. You can still see photos of her taken by camera phone in her previous website. What I like about Cindy is that not all of her outfits consist of high heels, boyfriend blazers and make up. The occasional appearance of a casual sweater really suits her supermom image (i.e. the ability to handle a son and still dresses fashionably). Another thing I love about her blog/outfits is that the details in her clothes. Golden studs here, leopard print over there and voila, c'est tres chic! Of course, it feels so much more personal to see her going to places I go to too. And if anything, at least I know I can purchase what I want from her outfits since we're living in the same city (not with Rumi though, since she's living in San Diego and international shipping costs a bunch).

Very prettily embellished top makes this outfit not dull at all.
But only a skinny lady like her can wear it,
otherwise it'd look like its a big sack over...
oh I don't know, someone like me?
And look, her little boy looks so cute!

Cindy in Taiwan.
Simple outfit, accentuated with the leopard scarf.
Something I can actually follow and wear...
I also love that silver jacket on her friend.
It turns grey into an exciting color.

Not a fan of Supreme, and I swore never to wear polka dots again.
I just love how this picture looks, with the matching red lips.

Adorable outfit. Love the skirt's color, which suits both spring and summer,
so you know you'll get to wear them for quite a while.
The braided hair (not seen clearly here) is very fitting to the overall look.
The only thing here I might change is the YSL bag.
I'd choose an old rugged brown leather bag,
you know, to really look like you're going hunting :)

These Nina Ricci heels are to die for.
They look comfy and probably is too.
I'm guessing 3.5inches tall?

I absolutely adore that jacket, with the detailed edge. Very chic, very Chanel.
If I had that jacket, I'd probably wear it everyday.
Grab a T-shirt, slip into a pair of jeans and walk out with some thin golden bracelets.
Sometimes its really all about the details.

I can see Cindy going a long way with her blog, and I hope she does. Fashion is all about the attitude, and a hip mother like her certainly carries one.

This is Yuki Lo, another Hong Kong blogger. She is a fashion reporter for More Magazine.
Her increasing popularity on lookbook.nu caught my eye and I can't wait to see more of her work.
Her blog on http://vipblog.orientalsunday.hk/yukilo/ however is in Chinese,
so not everyone understands it. Pity. But the pictures are pretty self-explanatory.
Enjoy.

A very long blog indeed. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't finish reading it. This is just a dedication to my favorite bloggers and their work. On the last note, I'm really into body jewelery lately. No, not piercing nor anything sexual. What I mean is the new (not exactly new but is getting to me lately) trend of using chains on body and rings fit for two/three fingers. I doubt Hong Kong has anything like that for now, and buying them off the internet seems bit too pricey. I guess the solution for now, is to wait... (sigh)

This angelic photo is, yes, from fashiontoast. But let's focus on the body chain shall we?
It is a masterpiece itself. Can't put my finger on it, but somehow it makes me scream perfection.
Love it, love it with all my heart.

Purple Label Crystal Striped two finger ring (turquoise)
is exactly what I have in mind right now.
They're very interesting, probably not a good idea if you're going to use chopsticks.
Otherwise, it's a beauty without flaws.

That's it for today. I really should be studying. Hugs, with kisses.
